Wild Marching Band Parade

Each year the Ingenuity Festival has launched with a signature large event, such as the “Symphony for 1,000 Drums,” or the “Samba for a 1,000 Drums,” or a performance-driven parade.
In 2010, when we launch on Friday Sept 24, we would like to begin with a large scale parade – this time the inaugural presentation of the Cleveland Wild Music Marching Band. We would be honored if you would participate.

We are seeking individual musicians, ensembles and existing marching bands that may be interested in participating in this rollicking rampage of magnificence. The parade will proceed form Playhouse Square to Public Square (where we will stop for a brief performance) and then lead the public to the streetcar level of the Detroit Superior (Veterans Memorial) Bridge. Dan McNamara, now music director of the renown Bread and Puppet Theatre will be returning to Cleveland, assuming the position of director of this Marching Band. All musicians are welcomed.

It will be an event teeming with energy and creativity and fun – a perfect way to trigger the festivities of Cleveland’s best known and most fun performance and exhibiting arts festival.
