Recessionator-Stimulator
Ongoing, appearing in two states: active and inactive. Inactively, the piece is a sculptural installation with sound, lighting and video projection. Actively, there will be elements of performance and interaction that develop storytelling with the piece. It is a spherical structure that encases lighting, sound, and video projection. It appears as an organic gestating form, combined with a very raw mechanical structure. With its dominating yet abstract appearance, passersby can walk through/under it, experiencing the installation as a fully sensorial piece. With the added element of performance, we will control the piece from inside, and actors will engage in direct physical interaction with the installation. The spherical structure represents a man-made organism that functions as a powerful source of energy and material wealth. The problem is that it consumes more of these things than it releases. So, while few characters become stronger, most weaken and disintegrate.
