Bill Burke and The Spiral Rhythms Ensemble

by admin on June 24, 2009

A prolific tap-style player, Bill Burke is recognized as a “wildly gifted musician” and “new master of the 8-string guitar”.  Bill plays the 8-string guitar in a manner similar to piano, enabling him to play multiple parts at the same time.  His refreshingly original compositions feature captivating melodies over layered rhythms – highly infused with flavors of place, time, and travel.  The Spiral Rhthms Ensemble is a group of musical friends (Rex Bacon, Ed Boas, and Harry Pepper) who have diverse training and experiences in playing a variety of percussion instruments including hand drums and drum kit.  Ranging from improvisational support to a stand-alone musical act, the members of The Spiral Rhythms Ensemble regularly perform nationally with Bill Burke (8 string guitarist) and Jim Donovan’s Drum The Ecstatic International.
