The Bal Ingénieux (pronounced: Bal On-zhe-new) is Ingenuity’s annual spring celebration of the entire creative class. It also happens to be our annual fundraiser for our year-round programming. Inspired by the Kokoon Arts Club parties of the early 20th century, attendees are encouraged to arrive in costume. And fun fact: at the original Kokoon parties, guests would not be allowed in if their costumes were considered unoriginal or effortless….but we here at Ingenuity aren’t that strict. While costumes are greatly encouraged they are certainly not required. We just think they make the night that much more fun!
This unforgettable night was held June 4, 2016 at the Tenk Machine and Tool Company. It always includes dinner, dancing, unique performances…and of course some other surprises too…
A Huge Thank You To Our Sponsors!
There are two ticket levels to the Bal:
- VIP Experience Tickets: Be there for the whole she-bang! These tickets include an open bar, dinner, unique programming, and valet parking. Doors open at 6pm. Price: $150 per person
- Patron Tickets: Come out at 9pm for desserts on the house and a drink ticket..and then party the night away! Get your tickets for this level fast though, because while tickets start at just $25…after we sell a limited amount the ticket price will jump to $35!
Each year, we work around a theme to bring you an immersive experience: this year, we transported guests to an other-worldly Enchanted Forest filled with live music, dancing, performances, installations and more. This year we welcomed:
Ernie Krivda Quartet | Angie Haze Project | Lost State of Franklin | DJ P Stoops
Michelle Gaw | Jarred Kadas | Bakers Basement | Hurdy Gurdy by Brian McCoy
Sokol Aerial Circus | Fire + Light | Magician Mark Zust
Artisan Vendors and So Much More!
We had so much fun building the Bal Ingénieux 2016! Check out some photos from our workshop in the Tenk Machine Company!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
By far the most frequently asked question we get is What do I wear to the Bal!? – don’t stress too much. The Bal is a very welcoming event – we suggest something in the dressy casual range but we won’t kick you out if you come in jeans either. But why not dress up a bit? When you look good, you feel good. So if you plan on coming in costume, check out our pinterest board for inspiration!
